OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the enterprise network systems (LAN/WAN, Data, Voice and Video over IP, and Wireless). This position requires strong knowledge with routing and switching, QoS, Wi-Fi, Firewalls and IPS solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configuring, installing, integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting of enterprise LAN/WAN networks and systems (enterprise converged networks, wired and wireless).
- Assessment and optimization of the LAN/WAN networks, through network monitoring, statistics, and daily health checks.
- Ensuring strict standards for network security are met, including identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities and enforcing strict firewall and IPS security policies.
- Coordinates service calls and schedules appointments with service providers to ensure satisfactory resolution of problems and malfunctions.
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive documentation diagrams of Network Infrastructure.
- Identify network trends and abnormalities and proactively take steps to prevent performance impacts to network traffic and business function.
- Perform pro-active support functions and reporting to maintain the integrity of the enterprise network equipment and infrastructure.
- Network Security – Firewalls, Intrusion detection, incident response and escalation, security policy articulation and compliance checking.
- Network performance evaluation, monitoring and optimization.
- Support any required system integration efforts required for VoIP implementation, deployment and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting internal and external routing problems.
- 24×7 support.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology Systems or equivalent.
- Experience with Cisco and HP network solutions.
- A minimum of 10 years of hands on experience with Network design, deployment and support.
- Expert knowledge of IP routing and switching.
- Expert knowledge with OSPF and BGP routing.
- Extensive experience with enterprise firewall design, implementation, and maintenance; including Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and F5 firewalls.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco Nexus, 3750, 3850, 2960 series switches and ASR1000 series routers.
- Experience with any of these wireless solutions; Ruckus, Meraki or Cisco.
- Experience with IPS solutions, preferably with Palo Alto and F5 ASM.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong technical background.
- Experience in supporting and operating converged networks which should include the following: IP, MPLS, Gigabit Ethernet, VoIP, and Wireless-based technology.
- Experience with Ruckus Wireless solutions is an asset.
